Obituary of Ralph Edward Sipes

Bedford Ralph Edward Sipes, 73, of Old State Road #37, Bedford, died at 9:39 pm on Thursday, November 6, 2003 at Bloomington Hospital. Born July 3, 1930 in Lawrence County, he was the son of Ralph Sr. and Delphia (Blackburn) Sipes. He married Betty Joan Barrett on May 13, 1955 and she survives. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Bloomington and was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of Clear Creek Christian Church. Surviving with his wife, Betty are two daughters, Tami Hanna and her husband, Brad of Bloomington and Lou Ann Sipes at home; three brothers, William Sipes of South Bend, Daniel Sipes of North Dakota and Jack Sipes of Indianapolis; three sisters, Mary Dawson and Betty Ratkovich both of Bedford and Frances Thompson of Solsberry, IN; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Susan Darlene Sipes and one brother, Cyrus Sipes. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Sunday, November 9th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Glen Hughes officiating. Burial will follow in Clover Hill Cemetery in Harrodsburg. Friends may call from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Saturday, November 8th and from 1:00 pm until the hour of service on Sunday, November 9th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
