Obituary of Ronald D. Sipes

Bedford, Ronald D. Sipes, 62, of Bedford, died at the Bloomington Hospital at 5:05 a.m. on Friday, October 22, 2004 after a 4 year battle with cancer. Born on October 27, 1941 in Bedford, IN, to Merlin and Martha (Taylor) Sipes, he was raised in Silverville and Fayetteville. He graduated from Fayetteville High School in 1959 and attended Indiana University. He moved to northern Indiana where he met and married Sally Ann Bemish on October 31, 1964. He was a member of the U.S. Army Reserve for 3 years. He was in the trucking industry for 25 years and retired as a vice-president. He has been the owner of Divine Auto Supply in Bedford since 1990. He is survived by his wife, Sally of Bedford, one daughter: Dawn Basquez and her husband, Michael of Fountain Valley, CA; two sons: Ronald J. Sipes and his fiancee, Susan Linton and David W. Sipes all of Bedford; six grandchildren: Anthony, Christian, Elysa and Rhys Basquez, Ryan Sipes and Landon Minton; two brothers: Elzy Sipes and his wife, Sherry of Columbus and Larry Sipes and his wife, Judy of Mitchell; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters: Bonnie Sipes and Joan Kubina. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted on 10:00 am on Tuesday, October 26th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Merla Craig officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday, October 25th and from 9:00 am until the hour of service on Tuesday, October 26th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
