Obituary of Donald Lee Sims

Oolitic Donald Lee Sims, 77, of Oolitic, died at 1:32 pm on Monday, December 10, 2007 at his home.Born September 18, 1930 in Harrisburg, IL, he was the son of Robert R. and Susie B. (Durfee) Sims. He married Lena Maynor on December 23, 1955 and she survives. He retired from General Motors in Bedford. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and a member of the First Baptist Church in Bedford.Surviving with his wife, Lena are two daughters, Leah Brinegar and her husband, Karl of Bedford and Kimberly Sims of Indianapolis; two grandchildren, Tiffany Hobson and her husband, Justin of Bedford and Kyle Brinegar of Linton, IN; one brother, Bobby Sims of Marion, IL; two sisters, Carolyn Wollenson of Jacksonville, FL and Linda Sullivan of Harrisburg, IL. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Friday, December 14th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Dr. Kregg Burris officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 3:30 pm on Friday, December 14th in the New Liberty Cemetery in Eddyville, IL.
