Obituary of Robert E. Sears

Wakarusa, IN Robert E. Sears, 86, of Wakarusa, IN, formerly of Bristol, IN, died at 11:10 pm on Tuesday, September 19, 2006 at Millers Merry Manor in Wakarusa, IN. Born August 18, 1920 in Needmore, IN, he was the son of David F. and Bertha A. (Belknap) Sears. He married Mary Lavender on June 27, 1942 and she preceded him in death on June 27, 1984. He was a machine operator for Cummings Engine Co. in Columbus, IN. He was a former board member for the Assembly of God Church in Bedford, a graduate of Shawswick High School and a veteran of WW II serving with the U.S. Navy. Survivors include two daughters, Cheryl Rance and her husband, Rod of Bristol, IN and Mary Faith Jones and her husband, Bryan of Evans, WA; three sons, Robert Sears and his wife, Carol of Bedford, Ronald Sears and his wife, Shirley of Columbus, IN and Darrell Sears and his wife, Becky of Goshen, IN; nineteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 23rd from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Glenn Duncan officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, September 22nd and from 12:00 noon until the hour of service on Saturday, September 23rd at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
