Obituary of Thurston E. Scott

Bedford-Thurston E. Scott, 81, of 21 Locksley Court East died at 8:29 am on Sunday, September 5, 2010 at St. Vincent Dunn Hospital. Born July 27, 1929 in Freetown, IN he was the son of Clifford and Nora (Sutton) Scott. He married Martha Sherrill on January 3, 1952 and she survives. He was a 33 year member of Dive Christian Church where he was an elder, and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a businessman in Bedford. Survivors include his wife Martha of Bedford; three daughters: Cheryl Cox and her husband Richard of Florissant, MO, Paula Rose and her husband Stuart of Peru, IN, Nancy Shirley of Vincennes, IN; 11 grandchildren: Scott, Jodie, Holly, Katy, Cara, Courtney, Bryce, Janna, Becca, Bethany, and Joe; 14 great grand children. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother: Doyle Imel; two sisters: Marietta McKain, and Bernice Collins. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Wednesday, September 8th at the Dive Christian Church with Bro. Phil McDonald officiating. Burial will follow in the Dive Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded at the graveside by members of the American Legion Gillen Post # 33. Friends may call from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Tuesday, September 7th at the Dive Christian Church and from 9:00 am until the service hour on Wednesday. Donations Information .
