Obituary of Jackie Dale Sallee

Bedford Jackie (Jack) Dale Sallee, 78, of Bedford, died at 5:08 am on Thursday, September 28, 2006 at Westview Nursing and Rehab. Jackie was born July 12, 1928, to Clifford (Teedlo) and Lorene Starr Sallee in Buddha, IN both of which preceded him in death. He was joined in marriage to Kathryn Ingle Sallee on June 28, 1947 and she survives. To this union was born a son, Gary Dale Sallee of Indianapolis and he had two blessed grandsons, Benjamin Sallee and Patrick Sallee of Indianapolis. He is survived by two brothers, Robert (Bob) Sallee of Bedford, and Harold (Dick) Sallee of Tell City, IN and a sister, Mrs. Bill (June) Waldon of R 15 Bedford, IN. He is survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Jack was a graduate of Tunnelton High School. He was a former employee of Farm Bureau Co-op, but retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 22 years of service as a letter carrier with the Bedford office. He was a member of the Bedford First Baptist Church, Leesville Masonic Lodge #16 and the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis, IN. He was also a member of the BNL Booster Club for 13 years. Funeral Information Celebration services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Monday, October 2nd at the First Baptist Church in Bedford with Dr. Kregg Burris officiating. Burial will follow in the White River Baptist Church Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm on Sunday, October 1st at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
