Obituary of Russell Ryan
Bedford Russell Cowboy Ryan, 84, of 434 Patton Hill Road, Bedford, died at 7:45 pm on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at his residence following a 10 month illness.
Born November 25, 1925 in Oolitic, he was the son of William and Delia (Silvers) Ryan. He married Patsy Mosier on November 15, 1975 and she preceded him in death on October 9, 2002. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in the Philippines during WW II earning numerous decorations. He retired from Hard Drives Construction in West Palm Beach, FL in 1988. He then moved to Tucson, AZ where he was a transport driver for the handicapped. He returned to Bedford in 2005 where he enjoyed feeding and watching squirrels and working on riding lawnmowers.
Survivors include his children, Debbie Bauer, Denise Myers, Billy Ryan and wife, Ronda all of Bedford, Jamie Whitney and husband, Stephan of Tucson, AZ, Ronald Mullis and wife, Maddie of Stockbridge, GA., Randy Mullis and wife, Cheryl of Phoenix, AZ; eighteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two brothers, Jimmy Ryan of Oolitic and Chet Ryan of Alabama; two sisters, Maxine Kodrea of Kokomo and Nancy Kindred of Indianapolis; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a daughter, Stacey; a brother, Clifford Pockets; two sisters, Dollie Dunlap and Irene Woodmansee. Funeral Information
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 3rd in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. Danny Goens officiating. Cremation will follow. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Saturday, July 3rd at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
