Obituary of Lester G. Ryan
Mitchell Lester G. Ryan, 73, a resident of Mitchell Manor, died at 7:17 am on Wednesday, February 8, 2006 at Mitchell Manor.
Born February 15, 1932 in Lawrence Co., he was the son of Thomas and Meville (Bray) Ryan. He was a self-employed owner of the Friendly Tavern, Ryans Auto Sales and Ryans Gun Shop. He was a member of the Indiana National Guard for six years and a member of the Eagles.
Survivors include one son, Ryan (Sully) Sullivan and his wife, Michele of Bedford; two daughters, Marybeth Jenkins and her husband, Darrell of Mountain City, TN and Joellen Hudson and her husband, Doyle of Oolitic; two sisters, Kathleen Waltke and her husband Johnnie of Bloomington and Ameila Bricker and her husband Robert of Muncie; one brother, Thomas Jr. Ryan, and his wife Brenda of Bedford; five grandchildren, Tina Denesha and her husband, Marty of Bedford, Gina Sullivan of Bedford, Trish Lackey and her husband, Mark of Springville, Natalie Shifflet and her husband, Jamiee of Bedford and Elizabeth Hudson of Oolitic; great grandchildren, Taylor Lackey, Jayden Lackey, Jarrett Lackey, Rory Sullivan, Levi Curren, Luke Preston, Brooklyn Shifflet, Marcus Sullivan, Eric Sullivan, Marybeth Sullivan, Tyler Eisele and Robert Sullivan; two step-great grandchildren, Jailin and Martin Denesha. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Frank and Robert Ryan; two sisters, Eilene Ryan and Geneva Underwood; one son, Lester G. Ryan II. Funeral Information
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Friday, February 10th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Rev. James Bundy officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, February 9th and from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Friday, February 10th at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
