Obituary of William Lynden Roberts
Bedford William Lynden Roberts, 73, of Bedford, died at 11:50 pm on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at I.U. Health Bloomington Hospice House.
Born April 12, 1939 in New Albany, IN, he was the son of Felix and Ertie (Hammons) Roberts. He married Nancy Noe on July 15, 1958 and she survives. He was a class of 1957 graduate of the Williams High School where he also played basketball. He was a district circulation manager for the Times-Mail in Bedford. He was a member of Community Baptist Church and was an avid golfer and reader. He was a member of the American Legion Gillen Post#33. He loved playing piano with various local bands, playing cards and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Lynden always had a hug for everyone he met and the best way to honor Lynden would be to pass his hugs on to others.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy of Bedford; a daughter, Julie Couch of Bedford; grandchildren, Chris Couch, Adam Couch and wife, Jessica, Carrie Couch (Zach Johnson) all of Bedford; a great grandchild, Aubrey and baby Zoey due in March; a sister, Elaine Almeda and husband Jim of Wabash, IN; a sister-in-law, Rosalie Roberts of Bedford; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 10th in the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor Eric Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow in Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Friday, November 9th and from 10:00 am until the hour of service on Saturday, November 10th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. Donations Information
