I will miss the wit and caring love of my wonderful Uncle Horace. He was such an exemplary person in every way to his family, friends and community. Aunt Mary, Uncle Horace, Janet and Jean all are very special to me even though I live far away and only see them rarely. The Richardsons will always have a special place in my heart. Uncle Horace no doubt is playing the Heavenly Golf Course with Golden Clubs now. Alleluia!

I wish I could be there tomorrow to hear all the great things that will be said about Horace. I last saw him at my mother's memorial service which happened to be on Father's Day. I wished him a happy Father's Day and told him that I always condidered him as another father. He smiled that great smile of his and said that I was one of his boys. I got to thinking this week that there are hundreds and hundreds of men throughtout the country that were his boys and we are all better than we would have been without him in our lives. That, along with his wonderful loving family, makes a great legacy for such a fine man.

My mother, Ann Munson Ball, tells me that I met "Uncle Horace" when I was an infant but unfortunately haven't seen him since. Despite this, Horace and Mary have sent me a birthday card EVERY year for the last 40 years. I am saddened that Horace is gone and that I never made it to Indiana to visit again. I feel as though I know him, however, as mom carries on and on about the greatness of this man. It is comforting to know that he is now in a place where there is no pain or grief, but life eternal.

We lived across the street from Mr. and Mrs. Richardson on 15th Street. We thought the world of him. Our son Kody loved him as if he was his own Grandpa. The world lost a wonderful man, but heaven gained from our loss. Our prayers will be with all the family in this difficult time, especially Mrs. Richardson.

Mary, Jean and Janet,
Cliff, Reilly, Elise and I were so sad to hear about Horace's passing. I always loved the stories he would tell about when he, Charles, Phil and Dad were boys. I know it is a huge loss for all of you and it is for us as well. We will miss him but I'm sure he and Dad are playing some great golf up in Heaven.
Love,
Marsha

My heart goes out to you at this time. Having lost my father I all too well understand the pain.
Mr. Richardson (he was always that) taught me printing in vocational school. He made it a joy and helped me realize that this is the field I want to work in. He was my favorite teacher.
I have worked in printing now for 32 years and have spent the last 18 years at The Indianapolis Star. There is not a week goes by that I don't think about the class.
