Obituary of Doris Irene Craig

Bedford Doris Irene Craig, 77, of Sanders Lane, Bedford, died at 12:36 pm on Wednesday, January 19, 2005 at Bloomington Hospital. Born December 18, 1927 in Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Richard and Ruby R. (Horan) Kern. She married Ambrose J. Craig whom she later divorced. She was a greeter at Walmart in Bedford for ten years and was involved the the Boy Scouts of America for several years. She was an active member of the Englewood Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Richard D. Kern of Bedford and Montgomery Allen Craig of Flat Rock, IN; one sister, Roberta Davis of Bedford; two brothers, Bill R. Kern of Bedford and Luther M. Kern of Mitchell; eleven grandchildren; six great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral Information Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 am on Tuesday, January 25th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary with Pastor David Ferry officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, January 24th at the Day & Carter Mortuary. The family asks that friends consider memorial contributions be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
