Obituary of Marguerite Kathleen Bugh

Bedford Marguerite Kathleen Bugh, 86, a resident of Hauck House, died at 11:40 a.m. Saturday, November 26th at Westview Manor and Rehab Center, 1611 Clinic Drive, Bedford. Mrs. Bugh was born October 2, 1919 in Bedford to Emery C. Perc and Mabel (Holmes) Turner. She and her late husband, World War II Navy Veteran Robert Harry Bugh, were married March 11, 1939 by Justice of the Peace J.V. Stapp in Bedford. Her husband died October 15, 1991 in Lakeland, Georgia. Mrs. Bugh was a member of the Bedford Assembly of God Church, a Past Madam President and member of the Eagles Auxillary; Past Noble Grand of the Naomi Rebekah Lodge; an associate member of the Martha Rebekah Lodge of Princeton, Indiana; a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and most recently a Bedford chapter of the Red Hat Society. She had attended Bedford schools. She is survived by two daughters: Sandra Gail Curtis and her husband, Nelson, of Longwood, Florida and Martha Karen Dillard and her husband, Neal, of Lakeland, GA; and one son, Robert Donald Bugh of Georgia. Also surviving are three granddaughters, Neala Kay McCardle and her husband, Rick of Lakeland, Georgia; Mindy Louise Dillard of North Carolina; and Candace Clair Curtis and her husband, Longwood, Florida; six grandsons; Kenneth Wayne Bugh, Robert Maxwell (Duke) Bugh, and Matthew Earl Bugh, all of Bedford; Gregory Russell Curtis, William Raymond Curtis, and Geoffrey Robert Curtis, all of Florida; numerous great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; one sister, Norma J. Hutchinson and her husband Kenneth, Bedford; two sisters-in-law, Jean Blackmore of Seymour and Marjorie Turner of Greendale, Wisconsin; and her friend and former daughter-in-law, Brenda Bugh, Bedford. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy Turner and Emery Carl Turner, and by two sisters, Mary Louise Walls and Phyllis Ann Strunk. After her late husbands discharge from service at the end of World War II, she had traveled with him extensively as a result of his employment, living in Princeton, Indiana; Arizona; Montana; Sorrento, Florida ; and had retired with him to Lakeland, Georgia. In Bedford she had been employed in restaurant work and the former Kresge Dollar Store, and while living in Florida she managed a gift shop at the Wekiva Falls Lodge and Tourist Park where her husband guided boat tours of the Wekiva River. Upon her return to Bedford in October 2000 she attended and became a faithful member of the Assembly of God Church. Wheelchair-bound in the past several months, she attended regularly until her health began to decline in mid October. Her hobbies including crocheting, listening to her collection of religious and country music, watching TV, reading and writing poetry. Some of her poems had been published in various editions of poetry publications. She adored her entire family and extended family, and was a welcome guest at all family celebrations until her health made participation difficult. Funeral Information Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, November 30th at Day & Carter Mortuary, with Pastor John Dodd and Pastor Glen Duncan officiating. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at Day & Carter from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday, and from 11:00 AM until the funeral hour Wednesday.
