Obituary of Rebecca Cornelia Sims
Bedford Rebecca Cornelia Sims, 89, a resident of StoneBridge Health Campus in Bedford, died at 2:10 pm on Tuesday, January 11, 2005 at the Dunn Memorial Hospital.
Born July 24, 1915 in Williams, IN, she was the daughter of Elza and Ziporah (Williams) Smith. She married Lehman O. Maegerlein and he preceded her in death. She later married Lloyd Padgett and he preceded her in death. She then married R.L. Sims and he also preceded her in death. She retired as the postmaster of the Williams Post Office after thirty-two years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxillary of Bloomington, the John Wallace Chapter of D.A.R., the Indiana Historical Society and Indiana Pioneers. She was of the Baptist Faith.
Surviving is one son, Stephen Maegerlein and his wife, Nancey of Williams, IN. She was preceded in death by her parents, three husbands, one son, Timothy Maegerlein; one daughter, Mary Rachel Cline; three brothers, Roscoe, Robert and Richard Smith; eight sisters, Rhea Roberts, Renee Simovic, Ruth Wagner, Ruby Tomlinson, Rachel Smith, Roberta Hendrickson, Roxey Malinowski and Regina Milum. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 14th from the Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary. Friends may call from 12:00 noon until 2:00 pm on Friday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
